An inspiring voice out of Boston, Carolynne Brown presents an honest vocal portrait of a Christian desiring intimacy with God. From the pop-style title track, to the gentle love ballads, to the meditative lyrics, her style is refreshing and sophisticated. Carolynne reveals her own joys and struggles in her debut CD titled Close to You.

Prayerful, powerful, and often playfully upbeat, the CD offers a look into this artist's core. Her knowledge of scripture is evident, as is her optimism in the future. Although she is a newcomer to the music industry, Carolynne has a depth in her lyrics that corresponds to her life experience. Carolynne believes, "It's easier for me to express my love for God through music. Many of the songs are prayers" and reflect compositions that have been maturing in her heart and her head.

A genuine Motown talent, she stays close to her roots with gospel allusions woven throughout the tunes. While she finds inspiration in the powerful voice of Mariah Carey and the soulful artistry of Indie Arie, Carolynne also finds direction in the raw honesty of Rich Mullins and the ability Paul Baloche has to create songs with musical and theological substance. She began performing at the age of eleven with instrumental and choral groups that encouraged her innate talent. After achieving a Bachelor's in Music Education, she went on to earn a Master's in Composition. Currently, she serves as the Worship Minister at Hope Fellowship Church in Cambridge, Massachusetts, where she uses her multifaceted vocal and instrumental abilities to arrange pieces that reveal a heart in love with the Creator of all.
